Cultural and social program


During summer courses of Polish our participants are able not only to learn Polish, but also to get to know the beautiful city of Cracow and to discover Polish culture.


Cultural program in Cracow (in German) during summer courses includes:

  1. Welcome and farewell party;
  2. Introductory guided tour of Old Cracow;
  3. 4 - 6 hours of lectures on Polish history, culture and political situation in Poland;
  4. Guided tour of Kazimierz (the Old Jewish Quarter of Krakow);
  5. Polish folk dance workshop;
  6. Day trip to the Tatra mountains combined with a hiking tour (please don't forget to bring your waterproof jacket and hiking boots).

Depending on the interests of our participants, and our possibilities - we are holding additional events (at an extra charge):

  1. Field trip to the historic salt mine in Wieliczka;
  2. Visit to the Royal Castle on Wawel Hill;
  3. Visit to Nowa Huta, a "new city" designed and built from the ground up in the 1950s, a typical example of communist constructivism in architecture;
  4. Visit to Collegium Maius, the oldest surviving part of the Jagiellonian University, dated from the 15th century;
  5. Polish film screenings (with English/German subtitles);
  6. Visit to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum in the city of Oświęcim.
